Managing Panels:
There are several ways in which you can manage the panels in Dreamweaver MX 2004. See the diagram below to learn how.
- The little area with tiny dots means that you can use your mouse to click and drag away a panel to a different part of the screen. This is helpful for when you want to un-group the panels.
- By clicking on the small triangle, you can expand the panel to see all of its different tabs and menus. Simply click on the triangle again to minimize the tabs.
- This long, skinny button with a triangle inside allows you to hide the panels completely. This saves a lot of space with you wish to view the entire work area without the panels cluttering up the main Dreamweaver MX 2004 screen. Click on this button again to view the panels.
Alternatively, you can right-click on any one of the panels and select “Close Panel Group” to close the panel completely. To re-open a panel that you have closed, you can go to the menu bar and select the panels you want from “Window.” Also, you can select “Hide Panels” from the “Window” menu (shortcut “F4”) if you wish to close all of the panels quickly.
It is recommended that you set up your Dreamweaver MX 2004 workspace to fit your preferences as soon as you open up the program.
